The Story Of Our Local Flooring Store In NJ
Owner Rich Linnell has been working in local flooring stores for more than 40 years. He started in a family business, the Remnant King, in Hamilton in 1971; not knowing it would grow into one of the largest neighborhood carpet stores. NJ residents first knew him as a general laborer, measuring and installing carpets alongside an uncle and a cousin. Linnell eventually worked his way up to the title of Vice President. In 1996, at the prospect of the family business closing, Linnell accepted an invitation from East Windsor Carpet One Floor & Home to open the doors of a second location in Central NJ in the neighboring town of Hamilton. Then in late 2012, as the company looked to downsize, the owners gave Linnell the option to buy the business; which he did with partners John McCabe, Maryann Bush, Donna Calu and Sherry Mattaliano.
Linnell brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with all his customers.
“I learned through the years that impression is everything for the customer,” he said. “From the personal greeting they receive when they arrive right down to how they are treated on the sales floor.”
As long as Linnell is at the helm of one of the leading floor and carpet stores, Rich’s Carpet One will continue to operate under an open-door policy and with a hands-on approach.
“I practice what I preach,” spoke Linnell, on the platform of all his experience with flooring stores in NJ. “I want all our customers to be 100 percent satisfied by our products and service.”
